LONGEVITY & WEIN

LONGEVITY & WINE

Drink lighter. Enjoy more.

Wine, Summer & Longevity!

In collaboration with CookingCatrin.

Wine and a long, good life – do the two go together? Catrin from cookingCatrin spoke with us about mindful enjoyment, resveratrol, the Blue Zones and the question of why a glass of wine in the afternoon can sometimes be more rewarding than several in the evening. A conversation that once again reminded us why we make wine the way we do – and how we most enjoy drinking it.

For Marlene Kirnbauer, her own approach to wine has changed through her training as a certified Holistic Health Coach. Today, she sees wine as part of a bigger picture that includes nutrition, exercise and mental balance: less, but enjoyed mindfully and at carefully chosen moments.

For Markus Kirnbauer, great quality begins long before the wine reaches the cellar. Across around 46 hectares, we work organically and sustainably. Because every decision made in the vineyard can ultimately be tasted in the glass.

Blaufränkisch in particular captures this connection to origin perfectly: precise, structured, fresh and profound. For Markus, a good red wine is above all about balance between structure, fruit, elegance and length – and it has to be honest.

Why Summer Changes Everything

Light Drinking

Warmer days, a lighter feeling and a more open mood – in summer, our approach to wine changes almost naturally. Instead of weight and richness, we look for clarity and freshness. This is exactly where what you might call Light Drinking comes in: less alcohol, more awareness of the moment.

A slightly chilled Blaufränkisch has surprisingly much to offer here: freshness, elegance and effortless drinkability. Suddenly, red wine is no longer reserved for the evening, but feels just as right on a shady afternoon.

And just as important: eat mindfully alongside it! Light dishes, plenty of vegetables and high-quality ingredients. Your body notices the difference immediately. Try, for example, the Sweet Berry Glow Pizza or the Sweet and Salty Pizza based on recipes by CookingCatrin.

Summer Doesn’t Get Better Than This

Sweet and Salty

INGREDIENTS for one baking tray:

  • 4 small heads of pointed radicchio
  • 1 Kornelia Urkorn organic pizza dough
  • 150 g sour cream

  • 1 handful of rocket
  • 1 handful of blackberries
  • Nuts (e.g. walnuts)
  • Salt & pepper

Season with salt and pepper. Drizzle with olive oil and serve immediately while still warm.
