At the heights of quality, where the air is thin and true competition is rare, we thought DAS PHANTOM had reached its limit. We were wrong. A new PHANTOM emerges, better than ever and now even certified organic. A new level of enjoyment for wine connoisseurs – and the first vintage to carry organic certification.

DAS PHANTOM has been the flagship wine of K+K Kirnbauer for 37 years. Its quality remains constant, yet every vintage brings something new. Since 1987, this distinctive wine has brought together Blaufränkisch, Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah in a complex composition shaped by berry fruit and delicate roasted aromas. DAS PHANTOM made wine history and has long since become an icon of Austrian red wine.

This vintage of the classic was presented in spring 2024. Its defining feature is its organic certification, alongside a complex and intriguing nose of forest berries, black olive, rosemary spice and cool mint, complemented by subtle notes of cedar. Despite its dark aromatic character and a hint of cappuccino on the palate, the wine remains remarkably refined, juicy and fresh, leading into a spicy mint finish.

But DAS PHANTOM is not the only thing with iconic status. Its campaign has become a story of its own. Every year, a new concept is created and brought to life in an elaborate photoshoot. For the 2022 vintage, we once again chose an extraordinary setting together with the creative agency kratkys.net: a hot-air balloon. Capturing the story of each vintage in one compelling image is our PHANTOMastic challenge every year.
